Expanding our product portfolio
The year 2013 is significant within life of our company thanks to the process of completion of two important industrial activities. On both production lines functional and performance tests are being prepared and pilot production will run in a short time.
The first of the investments is a Reconstruction of magnesia-carbon bricks line that enables us to produce not only synthetic resin bound bricks but also carbores bound bricks as well. Carbores bound is a more environmentally favourable alternative to resin bond. This investment is our reply to demands of refractory products` market with its tendency to use refractory products with improving properties and thus able to prolong operational lifecycle of production aggregates. As a part of this investment a new tempering furnace has been installed that uses the latest trends of technology and has the most up-to-date technical parameters. Higher requirements on manipulation with heat semi-products will be treated using two fully automated manipulators, so we will eliminate a part of heavy labour of our employees.
The second very important investment of the 2013 year is a construction of new Briquetting line. Process of briquetting enables us to evaluate fine-grade, till now not utilized elements that occur as side products of magnesite ore processing. This technology enables to process also heap materials derived from historical years of high production volumes and thus lower environmental burden of our previous activities. The briquetted fine – grade materials can be burned in own kilns to a sintered magnesia or could be offered to a direct distribution to various groups of customers. Main potential of briquetting products is in the steel production when setting a slag regime by slag additives (product line sold as FLUXMAG).
Application of these materials in the steel production process can significantly improve unit refractory material consumption per ton of steel produced.
New Slovmag`s investments and related measurements are aimed to improve our competitiveness and to establish stronger company position on the market of refractory products, especially on the EU market.
